Suárez stated that Ajax would always be in his heart and was given a 10 minute standing ovation from the fans who then sang the Liverpool anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone." In his next game, Suárez assisted Glen Johnson with a goal to pull a goal back after going 2–0 down against West Ham United, however Liverpool went on to lose the match 3–1. Suárez assisted two of Dirk Kuyt's three goals as Liverpool beat Manchester United 3–1 on 6 March 2011. On 20 March 2011, in a game against Sunderland, Suárez scored his second Liverpool goal from a tight angle, making the score 2-0 to Liverpool.
